Free solo

Admittedly, I did not get to film the climax of this project, and it’s something that i’m ok with.

After jugging up to the heart ledges and rapping in. I filmed Alex on his first attempt, when he ended up bailing.

I started jugging the fixed line early in the dark in order to get into position, and peered into the darkness below, waiting for him to appear.

It was a surreal experience filming someone risking so much, and i’m unsure that I would do it again if I could go back in time. Thankfully he wasn’t comfortable with that many people on the wall filming him, so when he ended up free soloing the route, the crew was pared down and I was cut from the team.
